What Playing Unified has taught Brad

What a great story that really embodies the goal of this campaign. Brad Gardner a student at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa was given the task of forming a unified flag football team of students both with and without disabilities. None of these students had ever met each other, however they said by the end of all the practices, relationships were formed as well as the attention of ESPN and the Governor of Alabama. Over the years the unified teams grew to a combination of 450 athletes. They had traveled all over the country attending the Special Olympic World Games and the Special Olympics Unified Sports Rivalry Series. Brad has learned many thing which I feel people should be aware of and that is you have to put the work in to form relationships, don't just expect it to happen, everybody has different abilities and those should be celebrated, and everyone no matter who they are has a role on the team and in life. Everyone no matter who you are has value and reason for being on earth. Through Unified sports we are inspiring people of all different abilities to try and aspire to be the next leaders of tomorrow. Unified Sports has risen to 1.2 million teammates worldwide and it keeps growing everyday. It is truly an inspiring story! Check out the link below to see the whole article!
