I came across this article that I found through my RSS reader about best buddies Eleanor and Paige. The article talked about how they had been friends for 5 years and now even spend Thanksgiving together. The main point of the article that I would really like to touch up on is the fact that Paige and Eleanor got so close that now Paige brings her family with her to celebrate Thanksgiving with Eleanor. Eleanor has really become part of the family, Paige said "Eleanor and I have been friends for so long, and she's so comfortable with my whole family that it just seems natural that we spend this holiday together." That is really the end goal of my social media for social change project I want to really form connections between people with and without disabilities with the hope of really forming a community of friends and in Eleanor's case family. A point I would have liked to have seen in the article is how Paige and Eleanor met and what they do together, because I always want to reiterate that my project's goal is to form connections between people with disabilities and people without them through the experience and thrill of learning something new or charity work. Overall to sum it up this article really shows the connection that I hope to strive for in my project.
